behind the lab

Hi, I’m Salber, a trained actor and movement coach with over five years of experience helping people reconnect with their bodies. I studied acting at New York University, between campuses in New York City and Abu Dhabi, grounding my training in a wide spectrum of global performance traditions — from the Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu, Polish physical theater rooted in the work of Jerzy Grotowski, and Japanese Noh, to Western approaches such as Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints and Linklater’s method of freeing the natural voice. My background also includes intensive voice and speech work, developed through the rigorous study and performance of Shakespearean texts. These diverse traditions continue to inform the integrated, embodied work I offer through The Resonant Lab.

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, I’ve lived, studied, and worked across the world — including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, China, and now Berlin, where I’ve been based for the past eight years. Learning to speak and embody the German language, particularly as an actor, brought unique challenges and revelations. I’ve had to claim a language that isn’t mine, and find where it lives in my body.

All of the above has culminated in the birth of The Resonant Lab, born out of a deep need to explore what it means to return to ourselves, and to show up as ourselves in both the professional and personal realms. To shed the expectations and labels, and to celebrate our authenticity in a world that often tries to package us neatly into boxes. Realizing that I didn’t fit into any of those prescribed shapes was difficult, but it also opened a path toward deeper freedom.

What if I could simply be me?

What if you could simply be you?

This work is about just that. It’s a blend of performance theory, embodied practice, presence work, and voice training — all in service of helping people meet themselves more fully. I’d love to journey with you.
